I am an extremely creative person, who does a lot of projects at once and who can never stop creating. For me, it is as style of living. My dream is to find a space, where I can freely express my art and through it connect to people. I want to perform, make inclusion projects, teach and help students with playing habits, work on my ideas and bring them to life.

Every musician usually has a long, boring biography with a lot of name dropping, concert, awards listing … and here is mine: Helena Terbuc was born in Slovenia, for everybody who comes from Slovenia, I’m from Ruše, for the others who don’t-it’s Slovenia not Slovakia! Jokes to the side … I received my music education in my hometown, started at age seven. I wasn’t described as a very talented child, however lately I’ve caught up, so by now I am a very talented adult. I practised, ha-ha. But I always was very musical and had a great gift for aesthetics.
As a teenager I continued my education at the conservatory for music and ballet in Maribor, where I studies classical guitar as well as jazz for a short time. Eventually I ended up in Austria, in Linz at the Anton Bruckner Private University. I started with in Linz very known Wolfgang Jungwirth and continued my studies with Martin Schwarz. In my masters I studied at the Norwegian Music Academy in Oslo for a year as an exchange student.
During my time in Oslo I studied with Ricardo Gallen, Otto Tolonen and my first female professor, which I am very proud of Eva Beneke! She remains a very inspiring person to me.
I took some masterclasses with famous people such as Adriano del Sal, Laura Young, Lukas Kuropashewski …, but for me it was never about the fame, however about the knowledge that could help me with my playing. One of professors, who left a big influence on me was Anders Miolin, I took quite many masterclasses with him. He challenged the way I think about guitar and playing techniques. Which led me to my research in Musicians´ health.
I’ve joined many guitar festivals, (International Summer Music School Pučišća, Musik-Kurswochen Aarosa, International Guitar Festival in Postojna, Guitar festival Mikolov, Meet your maker days), played many concerts, organized projects (Regenbogen Bunt, Von Toccata bis Tango, Kontraste …) and am planing to do more in the future.
Stay tuned!
To be continued …
